About SectionalDrill
SectionalDrill is an independent study tool for the FAA Part 107 knowledge test (Unmanned Aircraft General - Small). It is built for the FAA's October 26, 2026 change, which adds chart questions with images that are not in the testing supplement. It is not a flight school, and it is not affiliated with the FAA, PSI or any government agency.
How the questions are built
- Real charts. Every chart image is an excerpt of an FAA VFR sectional chart (Sep 3, 2026 edition), which is public domain. The edition is printed under every question.
- Answers from FAA data. Each chart answer is computed from FAA data, not typed by hand: the NASR airport, frequency and airspace files, the Digital Obstacle File and FAA special use airspace data. Every item records the data it came from.
- General questions are written from 14 CFR Part 107, AC 107-2, the AIM, FAA handbooks and the Chart User's Guide, and mapped to Remote Pilot ACS codes (FAA-S-ACS-10B).
- Human checks. Items where a chart depiction could be ambiguous are flagged for a person to check against the image, and they stay out of the free daily drill until reviewed.
- FAA facts on this site (test format, pass score, retest wait, the October 26 change) come from FAA primary sources, linked in our guides.
